master. haj Mahdi khan safdar zadeh haghighi son of safdar khan was born in a religious and art loving family in year 1270. haj Mahdi khan safdar zadeh haghighi entered carpet weaving workshop and art field. He learned this valuable art among teachers such as master abdul samad salami, master abdulmatallib shoreshi and master abdilrahim khan shoreshi. At the age of 18, he became known as Master Mehdi Khan Safdarzadeh Haghigi, and with the brilliant talent he showed in understanding weaving carpets, he quickly climbed the steps of progress in the field of carpet weaving, so that in 1318, "Master Mehdi Khan" He was very famous as one of the leaders of the carpet industry, and he also specialized in herbal dyeing of wool and silk. Haj Mehdi Khan Safdarzadeh Haghighi started his career by setting up several carpet machines in his home together with his family members and engaged in carpet weaving and after some time, he expanded his profession by building a carpet weaving workshop on Telephone Khaneh street in Isfahan and employing weavers. From the very beginning of the business, carpet merchants such as Abdur Rahim Emami and haghayegh got to know Master Haj Mehdi Khan and received all their orders from his workshop, which greatly influenced the development of Master Haj Mehdi Khan Safdarzadeh Haghighi's activities. One of the distinctive features of his carpets, which was known to domestic and foreign merchants, was the use of herbal dye that he used in his carpets. Around 1305, at the invitation of the International Red Cross and the French Consul in Isfahan, he set up a workshop to teach carpet weaving to the Kalimi minority living in Isfahan, located in Naqsh Jahan Square, and many of the carpet traders on Ferdowsi Street in Tehran were among the trainees of this workshop. Master Haj Mehdi Khan was in contact with masters of painting such as Musarul-Malki and Gholamreza Farshchian and the famous miniaturist Master Haj Mirza Agha Emami in order to improve the design of carpet designs. He was a noble and humble person. He never weaved his own carpets under his own name and secretly participated in doing good deeds and helping the workers of his workshop. Among his outstanding works, we can mention the Afshan Emami carpet and the Daghianos carpet. Master Haj Mehdi Khan Safdarzadeh Haghigi died on mordad 10th , 1347 and was buried in Sayyid Mohammad Latif Khajowi's Takiya.
